Periodontal disease is a real problem in our pets- and very difficult to treat once gingivitis has become established.
Neem has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine to help with oral hygiene. In studies looking at the effectiveness of neem chew-sticks, it was shown that they had both anti-plaque and antibacterial properties. Other studies have shown significant improvement in people with gingivitis and pyorrhoea after using neem based toothpastes.
This tooth paste contains clove, Neem bark powder and organic Neem leaf powder and Organic Coconut oil to keep your dog's teeth clean and healthy. Just apply gently to the teeth and gums using a damp cloth, a brush or cotton bud and see (and smell) the difference. Use as often as possible- ideally at least once a day.

Caution: Neem has contraceptive properties, so we would not recommend using the toothpaste if you are breeding your pet, or in pregnant bitches. It is quite hard to teach a dog to spit on command! Not recommended for cats due to the clove content.
My senior (12 yr old Buhund) dog has had ongoing troubles with tooth decay for the last 4 years, with 5 extractions so far. The vet recommended daily tooth brushing but it wasn't working - the scale was building up again and one large back tooth was turning brown from the top. I tried this toothpaste as a last resort before taking him to the vet once more. After a few days of using it (3 times a day), his breath was not so smelly. After two weeks, although there are still brown marks on the tooth, the brown has not advanced at all and the base of the tooth is pearly white. His other teeth are the cleanest they've ever been and he's a lot more comfortable. It remains to be seen if the effects of the original decay can be reversed - I don't know if that's even possible - but my old dog's back to eating as normal. I would highly recommend trying this toothpaste, it's really made a difference for my dog and I wish I'd used it earlier.
