Neem oil, like most other oils, will not mix with water. An emulsifier allows the oil to mix with water for use in sprays etc. Whilst you could use a conventional 'chemical' detergent we recommend Neemteam Eco-friendly gentle emulsifier for use with neem oil.

Adding Neem oil to water to spray on my dog, the oil obviously doesn't mix with water, it floats on the top. Add a few drops of this emulsifier and the oil will disperse, give it a shake to mix it then spray.
